Well, you gotta check out Mr. Alexander's view:

colors danced...

...and a cool wind whispered along the surface of Tórshavn harbor as we settled in for our first night

First Day Out

What a great time it is already hanging out with this group of folks. It was a long first day of travel to get here coupled with a few rental car glitches. We're now in 2 cars rather than one large van... something new for these trips, but I think it will work out fine. We're all settled in our hotel and had a nice dinner after meeting with the one and only Birgir Kruse. What a fantastic welcome he gave us, complete with some fine maps and suggestions for our trip. In fact, he'll join us tomorrow for our trip around the islands. I very much look forward to getting to know him better. For those interested, check out his Blog that is very popular here. We made the front page!

After dinner, Clay Lipsky and I had a walk around the harbor in the fading light. This is going to be a great trip!!

Almost Time to Fly!

While some of us, Andi, Jesse, Byron and Clay are already winging their way to Copenhagen, I'm still at home itching to get some miles behind me. My flight leaves Detroit at 4:00 PM putting me in Amsterdam at 5:00 AM where I'll meet Barron for the Copenhagen leg. There we'll all meet up for the final leg and the Faroe Islands.
